Features & Function

Prompt results are directly obtained from capillary blood by using specially designed Accutrend® Cholesterol test strips. Accutrend® GC is easy to use due to its non-wipe technology.

The Accutrend® GC meter measures the intensity of the reaction color within the reaction layer of the test strip by reflectance photometry and calculates the parameter concentration of the sample through a lot-specific algorithm. The result is displayed in mg/dl or mmol/l and stored automatically with time and date.
Test strips

Accutrend® GC uses specially designed Accutrend® Cholesterol superior-quality test strips.

The Test Strips Contain

• A  yellow protective mesh, impregnated with a surfactant (application field)
• A glass fibre fleece that works as a separating layer for blood cells
• A reaction film in which the color formation takes place and a bar code on the reverse side, which is read by the meter to confirm test strip identity, i.e. the lot number on the test strip is congruent with the stored code.
  

The system automatically performs a control check before each measurement by reading the bar code on the test strip and by comparing the code-strip data stored before blood is applied. In addition, the control solutions Accutrend® Control CH1 (cholesterol) can be used for performance checks.

Ease of Use: Monitoring Cholesterol With Accutrend® GC

The two-in-one system allows the measurement of cholesterol easily and accurately. You just have to insert either the Accutrend® Cholesterol test strips. Capillary blood does not need to be wiped off after application.
